God...Jesus...the Bible!!

Jul 13, 16:39

Anyone who has worked with younguns will know that church kids learn that there are only three answers necessary to answer any question posed to them at Sunday school or youth group. This inspired the name for a site my good mate Walshy set up to serve as a sort of Perspective for youth leaders. Basically a whole heap of tried and tested talks and Bible studies will get put up to serve as inspiration for other youth leaders to look to when they have a talk or study coming up for their group. So far it’s very much in the beta stage, but if you’d like to see the idea in action go here and if you’d like to contribute, contact myself or the WalshMan.

Christian Logos

Jun 28, 16:27

Okay, so Credo has had the same logo since its name change in the early 90’s. You can see it here in the centre of the first photo. It’s functional, but frankly I find it difficult to work with design-wise and frankly a bit fugly. Our website gets an awful lot of hits and our presence on-campus has also increased in recent years so I reckon it’s time we redeveloped our logo.
The problem is that there are very few Christian groups with logos that are meaningful AND well designed. So I’ve got my little list of rules for any new ideas we come up with.
Firstly, no fish-shapes under any circumstances.
Secondly, crosses only if necessary to the design. i.e. not just shoved in there because we feel we have to.
Thirdly, needs to be easily subtitled. Every few years we have change of motto – currently it’s ‘Christ for UTS.’ Ovals don’t subtitle well.
Fourthly, preferably it isn’t entirely colour-dependent. Colour is great for branding, but a pain when restrictive and since we do lots of B&W photocopying a design that doesn’t rely on the colour overly much is important.
I’ve got a few ideas floating round in my head, but does anyone out there in the wide-world have any suggestions or examples of logos that fulfil the above to get us kickstarted?
