V-Team Update 21-05-06

May 21, 07:16

Not long now, folks, until myself and my eight intrepid companions embark to Vanuatu!!

We have begun to really knuckle down to the preparation side of things, looking at who would be most suitable for coordinating different areas of the mission, learning more language, and getting down to some serious fundraising!

A few things:

1) Base Team:
If you would like to be kept informed in the lead-up and while on mission, you can become part of the Base Team. Just email me and I’ll add you to the list! Please keep praying!

2) Shave or Save?
My hair is in your hands now…As part of the fundraising two jars will be circulating emblazoned either Shave (yellow) or Save (blue). Whichever jar has the most money by 2:30pm on the 6th of June will win. If shave, bye-bye Goldilocks and hello razor blade. If save, the hair stays, albeit dyed for a time after the trip.
The latest figures:
Shave:
$342.25

Save:
$200.40

I’m still neutral in this, but I’m sure that the ‘Save’ crowd can at least equal this!

Hurrah! Something to read. No one else is blogging, so how am I supposed to distract myself from my assignments?!!??

    Ange, we disagree again.

    Kill the hair!

My observations of n=2 suggest strong gender differences in the ‘Shave or Save’ campaign.

Shave the hair – bald is beautiful!

    And…

Can I be added to the Base Team?

hi joel, alex jones here. :-) i will vote for ‘shave’ should i happen to come across the jars. it’s much more practical. also, i would like Very Much to be added to the base team.

ange, stop procrastinating. (or read my trivial shared blog. it is frequently updated, because I Too Procrastinate.)

All I can say is SAVE THE HAIR!!
I mean, hair takes so long to grow back… and what if it grows back different?

Can I say shave the hair? I need a fellow Bald in Christ. I can transfer money from Norway to wherever you are. I’ll e-mail or MSN you how much I’ll donate.

I think we should shave half, and save half.

Or take out the middle and leave him with earmuffs. (chuckle chuckle)

So should we start a third fund saying ‘Krusty the Klown’ hairdo? I’ll vote for that!

Nice idea Dibs…think of the money it would raise!!!

I reckon! It is time for jar number 3… only one week and four days left to overtake the other jars.

p.s. my blog address has changed to dib812@blogspot.com

Hey Joel, who’s shaving your head so we can give them the inside info on the Krusty the Klown ‘do…

Going off Di’s idea, we could have 10 or so jars each representing a different option!

    1. Shave like a soccer ball
    2. Same as 1 but with fluro pink or the colours of the rainbow (choice pending on weather)
    3. Hair spelling J O E L on his head
    ect….
